Word for the Day May 5
By: Evang. Cascille Hammack
"Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies.
Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died- more than that, who was raised to life- is at the right hand of God
and is also interceding for us." Romans 8:33,34
Christ intercedes on our
behalf before God's throne. Why should we fear? Hebrews 7:25 says, "Therefore He is able to save completely
those who come to God through Him, because He always lives to intercede for them." The Lord is sovereign and those
who come to Him in repentance and truly turn their hearts solely to Him will be saved and delivered completely. The
Lord said in Hebrews 8:10, "...I will put My laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their
God, and they will be My people." Christ intercedes in heaven for those who are His and the Holy Spirit intercedes
within the believer on earth. Romans 8:27 says, "And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because
the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will." Romans 8:9,10 explains, "You, however,
are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not
have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin,
yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness."
Romans 8:35 declares, "As it is written:
'For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.' No, in all these things we
are more than conquerers through Him who loved us." Jesus said in Matthew 5:10,11, "Blessed are those who
are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you,
persecute you and falsely say all kind of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad because great is your
reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you."
