Word for the Day May 6
By: Evang. Cascille Hammack
"Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time."
1 Peter 5:6
As believers, we pray God's will be done in our lives. Sometimes when people
become complacent in their position in life, God will force change. For our walk with God is onward and upward,
never stagnant and still. If we resist change, He will enforce change upon us. In order to be effective for the
Lord, we must follow the direction of the Holy Spirit, who is always moving to do the will of God on the earth through the
lives of believers.
It is sometimes painful when the will of God
has been resisted and God must arrange circumstances to enforce change that His will shall be done. The attitude
of the believer must always be humility before God, ready to accept whatever His will is, even when it is painful. God
always sees the end from the beginning and He knows the way we should take. Humbling oneself under His mighty hand
is the only position to assume. Accepting His will and moving forward in His plan and not our own will bring reward.
We must always to clothed in humility to receive His grace and help. There is no room for pride or ascribing one's achievements
to self. God is at work in the lives of those who belong to Him. Sometimes this requires accepting Him rearranging
your very life that His will shall be done. Your life is not your own, you were bought at a great price, the shed
blood of Jesus on the cross for you. You must submit your will and your life and it's entirety to the Lord, even when
you don't understand. In time, He will reveal the purpose to you. You must follow Him in full submission, humbling
yourself before Him that His perfect will shall come to pass.
