Evang. Cascille Hammack
"We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?
Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? We were therefore
buried with Him through baptism that into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of
the Father, we too may live a new life." Romans 6:2-4
Without
giving Christ your entire life and dying completely to yourself, you can not be born again. 1 John 3:4-10 says if people
keep on sinning they are not true believers. Yet there are leaders who preach the contrary. God requires that
we be holy. Without holiness no one will see the Lord. Romans 6:18 says, "You have been set free from sin
and have become slaves to righteousness." You have not been set free from sin if you have not died to yourself
and given your life to Him. The Lord will allow those into heaven who have not stained their garments. Rev.
16:15 Jesus said, "Behold, I come like a thief! Blessed is he who stays awake and keeps his clothes with him, so
that he may not go naked and be shamefully exposed."
There is no other way to know the Lord other
than dying to self. Jesus explains this in John 12:24,25, "I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat
fall to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. The man who
loves his life will lose it, while the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life." There
is only one way to be born again, and that is to die. Jesus proclaimed in John 3:3, "I tell you the truth, no one
can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again."
