Word for the Week July 14-21
By:  Evang. Cascille

"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power."  Eph. 6:10

When you are going through the fire only the Lord can sustain you.  Help is found no where else.  Sometimes He uses His faithful ones to come to our aid.  The faithful prayers of His saints and the encouraging words spoken by His messangers can carry you through and you must draw near to Him in your spirit for strength to go through.  Nothing is worse than to be facing an intense trial, only to be met by apathy and detachment from fellow brothers and sisters in the Lord.  If you are abiding in the Lord, you will have His heart in a situation and know how to minister to a need of one of His children, for it will be Him ministering through you.  A trial brings out many things.  That is why 1 Cor. 3:11-13 says, "For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.  If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver or costly stones, wood, hay or straw, his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light.  It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work."

The Lord's reward for the faithful is eternal.

Going through many trials will allow us to be sympathetic to others and then God can use us to minister when we meet others who are also facing trials.  It is very hard to relate to someone who has been through nothing because they can't sympathize in the suffering of others.  Jesus understands all of our suffering as He experienced it all and has victory for us.  He has compassion on us.  Usually someone who has been through little has little compassion to show others.  Usually those that have been through judge less and are more quick to offer help in the spiritual and natural realm.  At our times of suffering, it has always been those who seemingly had the least in material possessions and gave the most financially.  Those who had truly done spiritual warfare of their own were quick to stand with us and intercede for us.

If you are not facing a trial today, someone you know is.  Can God depend on you to be strong in Him and in His mighty power?  Can you trust Him in the fire or trust Him for someone else to intercede for them?  We are here to do His work, His way and His ways are not hard, neither have they changed.  We are to trust Him.  He fights our battles for us.  Our strength is in His mighty power.
