"Who will bring
any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ
Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for
us." Romans 8:33,34
Jesus lives forever in the Father's presence to intercede continually in heaven for all those who in faith "come to God
through Him" (Heb, 7:25). Through Christ's intercession, the one who comes (continually comes, for the Greek participle
is in the present tense, emphasizing continual activity). When we come to Him, we are those who "...through
faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time."
1 Peter 1:5
Hebrews 8:1 explains, "We do have such a high priest who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven,
and who serves in the sanctuary, the true tabernacle set up by the Lord, not by man." But He does not remain an
advocate and intercessor for those who refuse to repent and forsake sin and who depart from fellowship with God.
1 John 1:9 explains, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us
from all unrighteousness." Christ intercession to "save completely" is for those who "come to God
through Him".
We have the great blessing through our salvation that Christ is our high priest and has opened the way to His personal
presence where we can seek the help we need. Hebrews 4:16 declares, "Let us then approach the throne
of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find help in our time of need." By the grace mediated
to us who believe by Christ, He regenerates us (John 3:3) and pours out His Holy Spirit on us. As Peter explains in
Acts 2:32,33, "God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of the fact. Exalted to the right hand
of God, He has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear."
Then he explains the Holy Spirit is for all believers in Acts 2:38,39, "Peter replied, 'Repent and be baptized,
every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy
Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off- for all whom the Lord will call."
Hebrews
10:19-23 calls us to persevere, "...since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a
new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, His body, and since we have a great priest over the house of
God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from
a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for
He who promised is faithful."
As James 4:8 declares, "Draw near to God, and He will draw near
to you." Call on Him now. Release every burden to Him so He can fix it. Give everything to Him.
Give Him your life so you can have true life which is Him. As 1 Thes. 5:24 promises, "The One
who calls you is faithful and He will do it."
