Word for the Day August 6 By: Pastor John Hammack "Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding
the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power
to do what he had promised." Romans 4:20,21 Salvation comes by faith through God's grace. God told Abraham that he would be
a father of many nations and that his offspring would be as numerous as the stars in the sky. Abraham had to wait many
years to see the promise fulfilled, but He NEVER stopped believing God. Romans 4:18 says, "Who
against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations; according to that which was spoken..." Because Abraham believed God and did not waver in his
faith, it was counted to him by God as righteousness (Romans 4:21,22). We must remember that without faith it is impossible
to please the Lord. (Hebrews 11:6) Hebrews 11:1,2 says, "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance
about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for." When you possess faith, you have confidence. You have a deep conviction
that says no matter what, I am still going to win. David told Goliath, "...Today I will have your head..."
(1 Sam. 17:46) Then he proclaimed in 1 Sam. 17:47, " All those gathered here will know that it is not
by sword or spear that the LORD saves; for the battle is the LORD’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.”
David was convinced that GOD would deliver him. As believers must must believe the Lord and have faith that He will
perform His Word. In Jeremiah 1:12 that Lord said, "...I am watching over My Word to perform it."
