Word for the Day September 21
By: Evang. Cascille Hammack
"No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us." Romans
8:37
Jesus said in John 16:33, "I
have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have
overcome the world." We look forward to the time when God "will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain."
Revelation 21:4
When we are going through tribulation, we must remember the words
of the disciples in Acts 14:21. It says, "They preached the gospel in that city and won a large number of
disciples. Then they returned to Lystra, Iconium and Antioch, strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true
to the faith. 'We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God,' they said." We must remember
Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength."
Paul said he was given a thorn in his flesh to torment him and three
times he asked the Lord to remove it, but the Lord said to him in 2 Corinthians 12:9,10, "'My
grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about
my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses,
in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
Philippians 4:4-7 exhorts us, "Rejoice
in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do
not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to
God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
