Word for the Day October 12

"Let
the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful."
Col. 3:15
Col. 3:15 instructs us to let the
peace of God rule in our hearts. So many circumstances in life can create fear and anxiety in our hearts, but God
has provided a solution. When the peace of God rules in our hearts, we can live above the storms of life. They
will still come, but they will not have victory over us and we can have His peace that surpasses understanding in the midst
of them. When we pray, and cast our cares upon Him, He gives us His peace that covers our hearts and minds, preventing
the cares and heartaches from upsetting our lives and undermining our hope in Him. He tells us to, "Cast our anxiety
on Him because He cares for us." He also promises nothing will separate us from His love for us. Romans 8:35-39
promises, "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness
or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as
sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For
I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,
neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ
Jesus our Lord."
Phil. 4:4-7 says, "Rejoice
in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do
not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to
God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Being thankful to Him and rejoicing in Him strengthens our hearts and our minds. We are to remember we are not alone, He
is near. We are not to worry but to pray about everything, because everything that is a concern to us, is a concern
to Him. When we pray and draw near to Him, He promises to flood our souls with His peace and that His peace will
be a guard over our hearts and minds. We must let this peace rule in our hearts and always be thankful to Him for
everything. This is His perfect solution to us for anxiety and worry. Because He created us, He knows how we are
to live. Because He loves us, He gave us instructions in His Word to live victoriously in everything we will ever face
in life.
