Word for the Day October 26 By: Evang. Cascille Hammack
"When we were utterly helpless, Christ
came at just the right time and died for us sinners." Romans 5:6
Before we loved
the Lord, He loved us. While we were separated from Him in our sin and darkened state, He loved us so much that He shed
His blood for us that we could be saved. Our minds find it hard to grasp such unconditional love. No one loves
you as God does. Romans 5:8 describes this love, "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we
were still sinners, Christ died for us." He calls us His beloved. You are the bride of Christ.
At this time, He is preparing you for His return to be a bride without spot or blemish. Ephesians 5:25-27, "Husbands
love your wives just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing
with water through the Word, and to present her to Himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish
but holy and blameless." Are you preparing yourself for the return of Christ as a bride prepares herself for the
groomsman? We should constantly keep our eyes on this day, for it is coming. We are to set our eyes and strength
on His return for us. In Mark 13:35-37 Jesus instructs us, "Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the
owner of the house will come back- whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn. If
He comes suddenly, do not let Him find you sleeping. What I say to you, I say to everyone: 'Watch!'"
