Word for the Day November 1

"If you do not stand
firm in your faith, you will not stand at all." Isaiah 7:9
Many times throughout the Word of God, we are exhorted to stand and to stand firm
(Ex.14:13, 2 Chron. 20:17, Is. 7:9, Ro. 14:4, 1 Cor. 15:58, 1 Cor. 16:13, Gal. 5:1, Eph. 6:14, 2 Thes. 2:15, James 5:8, Luke
21:19, 1 Peter 5:9 to name a few). God would not continue to exhort us to stand firm if many things were not going to
assail our faith in attempt to knock us down. The enemy does not care about your losses (the loss of a loved one, job,
dream, ministry-the list goes on). For example, he does not need your job but if he can take your job he will
have a better chance at dismantling your faith. If he takes your faith, he can destroy you, for it is only by faith
that we stand. "For in Him we live and move and have our being." Acts 17:28
We stand on the only foundation
which has already been laid, which is Jesus Christ. That is why when challenges come, we must stand on the solid foundation
we have which is Jesus. "For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ."
1 Cor. 3:11
Paul said in 2 Cor. 4:7-11, "But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing
power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;
persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus,
so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body."
Today, whatever you are facing,
the word to you is stand. Just stand. If you have received Jesus as Savior, He is your foundation and you will
not be thrown off if you stand firm on your faith in Him and do not be moved.
