And Elijah came to
all the people, and said, "How long will you falter between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal,
follow him." But the people answered him not a word. 1 Kings 18:21
God sent
Elijah to confront Ahab for he had abandoned the Lord's commands and had followed the Baals. Ahab knew he was coming
to rebuke him for when he saw him before he even spoke, Ahab said to Elijah, "Is that you, you troubler of Israel?" When
you walk in the Lord's anointing, all you have to do is show up and the enemies of the Lord get angry. Then
they find accusation unjustly. For the devil is the accuser of the brethren. But when we go through it in His
name, He will bless you. In Matthew 5:10 Jesus said, "Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness'
sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." God's Word is true. Jezebel had just
massacred the prophets of the Lord. God sent Elijah to summon all of the people of Israel and all of the false
prophets of Baal and asked them to call down fire from heaven if there god be God. It is quite humorous to read 1 Kings
18:21-40 how Elijah mocked the false prophets and proved before the people they had no power. What was not humorous
and still is not now, is that the Lord takes very seriously the mistreatment and abuse of His prophets who He sends to do
His work. The Lord said, "Do not touch not My anointed ones and do My prophets no harm" Psalm 105:15
and "I will contend with those who contend with you" Isaiah 49:25. In 1 Kings 18:37-40 "Elijah
said "Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that You are the Lord God, and that You have turned their
hearts back to You again." Then the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood
and the stones and the dust, and it licked up the water that was in the trench. And Elijah said to them, "Seize
the prophets of Baal! Do not let one of them escape!" So they seized them; and Elijah brought them down to
the Brook Kishon and executed them there. " God is still throwing down the strongholds
of the enemy and turning the hearts of His people to Himself. Give Him the glory due His Name and fully turn your heart
toward Him today! "For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself
strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him." 2 Chronicles 16:9

Elijah calls down fire from heaven to consume the sacrifice...
"For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears open
to their prayers; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil." 1 Peter 3:12
