Word for the Day January 6
By: Evang. Cascille Hammack
"My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen
wait for the morning." Psalm 130:6
A soul that is patient waits with calm endurance for the Lord to lead before acting. In
waiting for the Lord there is no anxiety or pain because we know we are in the hands of God and that we have entrusted our
hearts to wait upon Him. When we try to decide our own path apart from His leading, the trials this brings on our minds
is greater than any pain inflicted in our body. But when we choose to trust our lives into His hands and have His Holy
Spirit lead us, in His timing, His light will come and guide us. Psalm 18:28 says, "You, O LORD, keep
my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light." The attitude of waiting upon the Lord and the patience of
expectation frees our spirit to receive His leading. Make up your mind to submit your will to the Lord and allow
Him to lead you in everything you do.
Whenever you do not know what course to take, do not blindly choose your own path. Wait patiently
for the light of His Holy Spirit to direct your path. Wait with patience upon Him to lead you, and He will
illuminate the path you should take.
Psalm
118:27, "The LORD is God, and he has made his light shine upon us..."
