Word for the Day January 16 By: Evang. Cascille Hammack
"As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the LORD by failing to pray for you."
1 Samuel 12:23
If we truly love our neighbor as ourselves as Jesus commanded in Mark 12:31, we will
pray for them. In doing so the hearts we can not penetrate are opened, those we cannot protect are protected, those we cannot
speak to are taught and those who we have no power to comfort with are our words are comforted. We are able to intercede for
others as they work through the perplexities of their day and pray the Lord lift the burdens from their shoulders at night,
and He does.
This ministry of praying for others is not seen by anyone else except the Lord and is so powerful.
No ministry is so much like that of angels except intercession. 2 Tim. 1:3 says, "I thank God, whom I serve, as my forefathers
did, with a clear conscience, as night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers." 1 Cor. 10:13 says, "No
temptation has seized you except what is common to man." Everyone endures trials and no one is exempt. We must pray for
each other. James 5:16 says, "Therefore, make it your habit to confess your sins to one another and to pray for one another,
so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective." Pause a moment and pray for someone
right now, everyone needs it.
