"He, that being often reproved hardeneth
his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed and that without remedy." Proverbs 29:1
God is long suffering and He does not desire that even one should perish. He constantly holds out His hand to obstinate
people. He loves His children. He is long suffering. He will repeatedly stand at the door of His child's
heart, waiting for him to open the door. In Isaiah 65:2 the Lord said, "I have spread out My hands all the day
unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts."
The
Lord's mercy and grace should never be taken for granted. He is a just God and he will not continue to tolerate
sin and rebellion after He has repeatedly sent correction and the conviction by the Holy Spirit into the lives of the disobedient.
Psalm 10:4 says, "The wicked , through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all
his thoughts."
Ge. 6:3 the Lord warns, "...My spirit
shall not always strive with man..." Tomorrow is not promised to anyone and no one knows the hour at which
God will take him from the earth. He is the giver of life and He takes it away. Hebrews 4:7 declares, "Again,
He limiteth a certain day, saying in David, Today, after so along a time; as it is said, 'Today if ye will hear His voice,
harden not your hearts."
