"It is for freedom that Christ has
set us free. Stand firm, then, do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." Galatians 5:1
Sin is a power that holds a person in bondage. It is not simply an act. It
is a trap that comes through believing a lie. To the Jews who believed Him, Jesus said, "If you hold to My teaching,
you are really My disciples. Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free." John 8:31,32
They answered that they had never been slaves to anyone. Jesus told them, "I tell you the truth, everyone who sins
is a slave to sin." John 8:34 Then He said, "If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed."
John 8:36
Jesus said very clearly, "He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason
you do not hear is that you do not belong to God." John 8:47 He said, "If I glorify Myself, My glory
means nothing. My Father, whom you claim as your God, is the one who glorifies Me. Though you do not know Him,
I know Him. If I said I did not know Him I would be a liar like you, but I do know Him and keep His word." John
8:54,55 Jesus spoke only the truth and His word continues to speak truth through all eternity. It will never pass
away.
God set eternity into the hearts of all men (Ecc. 3:11). He has made salvation as easy as believing
what He did on the cross in payment for all sins. In believing Him, you must first be done with sin. You must
turn from sin and turn to Him. He has put a longing in your heart to know Him and to be free forever from the bondage
of sin. "Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, the Spirit who cries out, 'Abba,
Father.' So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you an heir." Galatians
4:6,7
If you are feeling the Lord draw you today, know what Jesus said, "No one can come to Me unless the
Father draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day." John 6:44 It is the Lord who is drawing your heart
close to Him. He desires fellowship with you. He created you to worship Him and to be used for His glory on the
earth. Turn from the lies of the world and sin. Turn your heart toward Him. Tell Him you are sorry for all
of your sin and tell Him how much you need Him. Believe what He did on the cross, shedding His blood as payment
for your sins and being raised in victory over all sin and death. He is waiting for you to open the door to your
heart to set you free today. His word is true. Jesus said in Mathew 7:7,8 "Ask and it will be given to you;
seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds;
and to him who knock, the door will be opened." And in Rev. 3:20 Jesus spoke, "Here I am! I stand at
the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with Me."
Hebrews 6:18 testifies, "...it is impossible for God to lie..." Believe Him now, His desire is to
abundantly bless you now and forever. To not choose Him is to choose death now and forever. Open the door to your
heart and ask Jesus to come in now, choose life.
