Word for the Day March 24 Monday

"Is any one of you in trouble? He should
pray. Is anyone happy? He should sing songs of praise. Is any one of you sick? He should call for
the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will
make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess
your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful
and effective." James 5:13-16
The Word tells us to seek our strength through
God in prayer. 1 Peter 5:7 instructs us, "Cast all your anxiety on Him, for He cares for you." If we
are happy, we are to sing praises to the Lord. Psalm 33:2,3 tells us, "Praise the Lord with the harp; make music
to Him on the ten-stringed lyre. Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy."
If someone is sick, it is the responsibility of the leaders of the church to anoint them with oil and to pray the prayer of
faith. It is the responsibility of the leaders to pray the prayer of faith, not the sick person. The oil represents
the healing power of the Holy Spirit and it is a point of contact to encourage faith. When we pray, our prayers must
be in faith. Jesus said, "Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."
