Word for the Day April 25

"No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom
of God." Luke 9:32
Jesus said in Luke 14:33, "Any of you who does
not give up everything he has cannot be My disciple. He also said in Luke 14:34,35, "Salt is good, but if it loses
it saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is fit neither for the soil nor for the manure pile; it is thrown out."
If someone commits to Christ and then tries to turn back to the world, to their own demise, they find there is no way back
to the world. They no longer have "saltiness" or the presence of God in their lives and they will never fit
into the world again. The world will ultimately stone them. It is very dangerous to turn from serving the Lord.
Hebrews 6:4-6 warns, "It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who
have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age, if
they fall away to be brought back to repentance, because to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and
subjecting Him to public disgrace." Compromise happens before one falls away.
Do not compromise
with the world. A Christian should not resemble the surrounding society. The Laodicean church was guilty of this.
The Lord warned them in Rev. 3:16, "So because you are lukewarm-neither hot or cold- I am about to spit you out of My
mouth." If you repent of lukewarmness He is faithful to forgive you and you will overcome if you remain steadfast
in the faith. He stands ready to receive you if you repent and commit to serve Him only.
