Word for the Day April 26
By:  Evang. Cascille Hammack

"Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."  Matthew 11:28

Jesus invites all to come to Him with the troubles of life and sin.  He is such a gracious Savior that not only does He save us and give us eternal life but He carries our daily struggles and burdens, if we will release them to Him.  God did not design us to be capable of carrying the troubles that come with life.  Everyone faces them, no one is exempt.  He created us with such a need for Him.   If we would roll these cares on Him in faith He will work them all out.  Will you release them to Him today?  He did not make you to carry these burdens.  You are not able to carry them, you must surrender them to Him.  Countless sorrows and needless pain is carried around by so many.  If we live by His Word and do what He says, we will live.  He gave us His Word for our benefit.  It only hurts us when we do not obey His Word.  You can not succeed in doing it your way.  There is one way and it is His way.  He has given us His Word and His Holy Spirit to guide us.  Untold millions of dollars are spent on medication and psychologists and other forms of "answers" men have come up with as their own solutions to their problems.  Many end tragically.  It is so unnecessary.  If we would only trust Jesus at His Word and give our burdens to Him, knowing He will give us rest and peace and His Holy Spirit to lead us through the trials of life.  He lovingly tells us, "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."  How disappointed He must feel when people declare He is not sufficient and make argument that help must be found in other places.  Hebrews 4:16 says, "Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need."
